Nixosoft MeshNet
Your own private network, on your own server
MeshNet lets you run your own private network. One machine of yours is the coordinator; every other machine joins it and they reach each other directly — across home routers, mobile networks and continents — each with a stable address on one encrypted network. Nothing phones home. There is no Nixosoft-operated service anywhere in the path: you run the coordinator, you hold the accounts, and private keys never leave the device that generated them.
Capabilities
You own the coordinator
The master server is a machine of yours. There is no third party in the path and nothing phones home.
Direct peer-to-peer links
Devices find each other and connect directly across NATs and firewalls, each with a stable address on one encrypted network.
Names, policy and exit nodes
Reach machines by name, define who may talk to whom with an access policy, and route traffic through exit nodes.
Shell access by identity
Open a shell to any machine using its mesh identity — a certificate per connection, with no keys to install or rotate by hand.
Signed, verified updates
Clients update themselves automatically, and every published file is verified against a signed SHA-256 manifest.
Runs everywhere
Desktop apps for Windows, macOS and Linux, headless installs for servers (x86-64 and ARM64), and the self-hosted coordinator.
Use cases
Reach home from anywhere
Get to your home server, NAS or desktop securely without opening ports to the internet.
Tie servers together
Give a fleet of VPSes and machines one private network and stable names.
Small-team network
A private network for a team without handing your topology to anyone else.
